As someone who lives in the americsn south, this is honestly pretty funny.

What I usually do is something pretty risky, but it pays off big. Instead of going to drill tunnel after recruiting the early Native Forest Digimon, What I usually do now is go get centarumon, return to the city, mske sure I have plenty of recovery items and that restore, talk to centarumon at the clinic, then I actually go to the canyon snd straight into freezeland. If i manage to avoid everything in freezeland and misty trees, what I will do is head south once Im in misty trees and keep goimg west - if it takes me somewhere random i pretty much always head southwest until I hit Geko Swamp. I fight Otamamon, go to trash mountain foe the rod and sukamon. I recruit patamon, biyomon, and elecmon then go through mount panorama and recruit Unimon. Then I come down through into native forest and this clears the landslide and it stays clear without doing drill tunnel. Then I go get potties and do drill tunnel, lol. It's suuuuper nice... but very risky but it's soooo worth it.

Giromon is pretty sick. Learns great moves and isn't hard to get. I think you just keep your digimon happiness maxed, his weight very low and never feed him while keeping him very happy and you're pretty much guaranteed to get him.

Greymon actually isn't bad to get. The main thing is his discipline and fighting at least 6 battles. If you fight 6 battles it rules out the bonus condition for Tyrannomon, so that increases odds. Parameters is easy enough. Discipline is easy once you can buy small recoveries. You can offer them to him even when he doesn't need them and scold for refusing. Once he's in the yellow though he starts to accept them frequently so you need at least 15+ small recoveries, or scold him then feed him a blue apple.

I been playing the hell out of this on my backward compatible ps3. Got to where I could beat machinedramon in 5 hours with my first digimon.

I played about a week ago to see if I could get greymon and skuklgreymon with agumon at the beginning - i succeeded but then I also managed to beat the game with him. Crazy how strong Skullgreymon is with Ice Statue
